School has holidays, but studying doesn’t have. Hello there! Welcome to Ken’s personal website and blog. Today, I am going to talk about a relaxing trip in Xunliao Bay, Huizhou, Guangdong, China during the 2020 summer vacation.
I have been having IELTS lessons since the summer vacation starts, but I need to relax. So, we had a relaxing trip in Xunliao Bay, Huizhou.
As I am a student, it is crucial to relax after a long-time studying. Without taking a rest, I would be extremely tired,
Now, I am going to share some photos and my experiences about this journey. Follow me!
Why I go to Xunliao Bay to have a Relaxing Trip?
Unfortunately, the winter/summer camp in Beijing, the capital city in China, for exploring Chinese high-tech and learning related programming language has been canceled, but I still have opportunities to explore high tech. Meanwhile, the high-tech is still developing, which will be better and better in a few years.
Xunliao Bay is a resort near a sea located in Huizhou, Guangdong Province, China. People usually go sightseeing, swim in the sea, eat seafood, and ride boats there.
There is no place to go because traveling to other places far away from my home during the epidemic is a hazard, especially going to another province.
I haven’t go to beaches and watch the sea several years ago because of the massive study tasks. I went to the United States and the United Kingdom to explore the culture and universities/colleges, and learn some computer knowledge in western countries in 2018 and 2019 summer vacation respectively.
In addition, I didn’t go to the graduation trip with my classmates in Chongqing and Chengdu because it was a cross-province trip.
I have been there several times. The first time I traveled there was in primary school with my old classmates. However, we still went there because we wanted to see the sea.
The Journey in Xunliao Bay
There were 2 days during the Xunliao Bay relaxing journey, from August 16 to 17.
We saw the sea, swam in the sea, and ate seafood during the journey, which could let me explore the scenery and strength my body.
As I am an excellent student, I used my study strategy during my whole journey, listening to TED talks, remembering English words with Quizlet, reading books on Kindle, and discovering the knowledge I learned from my school.
Day 1: Warm-up Activities
In the first day of our trip, we did some warm-up activities to prepare for some great activities on and beside the sea during the next day.
10:00 AM – 1:00 PM: Depart
In the morning, we packed our luggage with some essentials and prepared for this trip, but we didn’t make a plan for this trip clearly because we wanted to explore the things where we go through on the way to our hotel.
At 10:00 AM, we started our journey to the hotel we booked in Xunliao Bay. Generally, the journey should be 2 and a half hours, but it took us 3 hours to get there because of the congestion and some parts of the expressway were under construction.
Traffic jams are not annoying for me because I usually study while taking the transportations. To be more specific, I usually listen to English speech and/or music on the car, bus or coach, read books on the underground, do my homework and/or write blog articles on my website on the train or plane. The more traffic jams and delays I encounter, the more study time I could have.
3:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Swimming
Aha! We arrived at the hotel. Then, we went swimming in the hotel pool. It was very hot so we didn’t swim in the sea in the afternoon.
7:00 PM – 9:00 PM: Barbecue
After we finished swimming, I drank the coconut water in the hot weather, which could relax myself.
During dinner time, we went to a barbecue field on the beach which is adjacent to the hotel. This was the first time I cooked food in the barbecue activities.
Day 2: Enjoy the Sea
8:30 AM – 9:30 AM: Enjoying the Sea on the Yacht
The first day of our trip was over. We had breakfast in the hotel cafeteria with some western foods, which were my favorites, like chips, eggs, milk, and sausages. I used a knife, a fork, and a pair of chopsticks*.
(Note: Chopsticks (筷子) is a Chinese traditional tableware with 2 long bars, like a knife and a fork in western countries, and I often use chopsticks to eat western foods.)
After breakfast, we went to the beach and rode the yacht that runs around the sea for an hour, in which I have taken some great pictures.
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Enjoying the Sea on the Beach
At 10 o’clock, we enjoyed the scenery of the sea on the platform beside the hotel above the beach. Meanwhile, we could enjoy the wind came from the sea.
However, I didn’t go swimming in the sea because it was very hot and I was quite tired.
2:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Going back to Guangzhou
This is the end of our relaxing journey in Xunliao Bay. I felt very happy.
After arriving at my home, I wrote this article on my website to share my journey with others. In addition, I will continue my IELTS lessons in Guangzhou downtown tomorrow.
This is an article about my relaxing journey in Xunliao Bay, Huizhou. I was both sad and happy because Beijing summer camp was canceled and we planned to go to a different place which is great.
I have my own study strategy, so I always say some words to myself to encourage me to study better whatever sad things I encounter.
It is the high-tech in China that is currently developing rapidly, so I always have chances to enjoy the high-tech and learn some knowledge related to this. If the summer camp was to be postponed again, I would enjoy better high-tech. So, I do not need to worry about the cancelation of the camp.
Alright! This is the end of the article. Thanks for reading.
