People may ask me some questions about some situations in the school, my study routine, my study strategy, subjects I will choose, and situations about my website and blog.
In this post, I will tell you some common questions and answers about graduating from junior high school and entering senior high school. Follow me!
Questions about Graduating
Will I change my study plan and daily goals after graduate?
There are some differences between the curriculums in junior high school and senior high school. I will adjust my plan and goals according to real situations.
I may add more daily goals (no more than 12) and let me study better and improve my study efficiency.
Does my sleeping time change after graduate?
Student's study tasks are heavy so their sleeping time may be reduced. I will adjust my spirit time according to real situations.
Need I have accommodation in senior high school?
It is essential to live in the school during my senior high studying journey because any of the senior high schools I want to go into is far away from my home, whatever the school I will be in.
I will live in school on weekdays and go back home at weekend.
What is the name and the website of your school? Where is it?
My new school is called: Guangdong Country Garden School (GCGS).
It is located in Foshan, Guangdong, China, which is adjacent to Guangzhou.
It has a website: https://bgy.gd.cn/
Does my school allow or ban electronic devices (such as phones, tablets, and computers)?
The electronic devices are restricted in my new school as well as my junior high school PCIS.
Generally, it bans electronic devices because it doesn't want their students play games all day without studying.
However, we can take them if we need to do some studying tasks in the school. We should hand in to the homeroom teacher for managing when we don't use them, according to the school rule.
Does my school require wearing their uniforms?
Certainly. It has multiple colors and we wear different colors on different days.
Please note: It is against my school rule for not wearing school uniform or wear it as a wrong color.
Will I continue to do my community project after I go into senior high school?
We planned to stop updating the articles and preserve our website from 1 to 2 years after the community project ends. However, we have considered that this is a special period, more and more people concern about computer safety problems during which. So, we have intended to continue our project.
We estimated that our project will continue until August 31, 2022, end of the summer vacation between grade 11 and 12. However, we will continue our service until the epidemic ends if it is not ended.
As I am the leader of our team, I have a responsibility to answer everyone's questions patiently. If you have any questions about computer or computer safety, please contact our team.
Note: My new school has an option of a course: MYP/DP. We will take MYP courses of last year first and do personal project, so we will have no time to do this project. I have chosen another option so this will not be affected.
I will notify you using email newsletter and the sidebar on my website if they have been changed. Also, I will give some time to let you review the updated version of agreements before they take effect.
Will my blog and other public resources be paused to update after I enter senior high school?
Regularly, I update my public resources such as my blog at weekend. The approximated amount of the updates after I enter senior high school is: 1 to 4 articles per week.
In fact, the curriculums in senior high school are quite difficult and the study tasks will be very hard. If one of the following situations happens, I will send a notice and pause updating my public resources.
- 2 weeks before mid-semester exam, final exam, or other important exams.
- Dramatic decrease on my scores.
- Too many assessments or study tasks. (more than 5)
What is my study routine in senior high school?
I predict that there will be more pressure during my senior high school life and it will follow this principle: remember English words after get up, read books for at least an hour every day, watch an English movie every Saturday evening.
I have my excellent study approaches, reducing my burden on studying, improving my study efficiency, and having enough sleeping time.
What should you do if you miss me or need my help while studying in the future?
Don't worry! You can open my personal website (www.kenstudyjourney.com) or WeChat Moment to view my latest news.

Will I reply to everyone's messages and comments after I enter senior high school?
I arranged a period to reply to everyone's messages and comments on my blog for 10 to 20 minutes per day (after get up or before sleep), which does not affect my normal studying time and plan.
I will view my email inbox and check for new comments on my blog during this period.
What is the type of my course?
The type of my course is IGCSE, in which I can learn many knowledge based on my interests.
How does my personal website and social methods change after graduate?
I will use some new things with imagination (simile or metaphor) to encourage more people to study better.
For instance, I have changed the name of my study methods "Ken's Study Strategy" to "Ken's Study Journey" where we can discover new knowledge during the whole journey (in the school).
Also, I will use "Ken's Study Journey Train" and some related words (e. g. get on, terminal, help button) to attract people to use my study strategy (get on the train so I can accompany and help you alongside).
Will I help people actively during my senior high study journey?
Certainly. I would like to help others actively while I am in senior high school.
That is because I have some inspirations from some movies I have seen and some helpful people while I am traveling.
I will help you actively for the following situations:
- Cannot arrange your daily life.
- Cannot stop your bad habits.
- Experience computer problems.
- Cannot solve questions (except Chinese, PHE and history)
- Too much burden on studying.
- Cannot improve your study efficiency or score.
During my junior high study journey, I should have helped others because I don't know that I should help others and how to help in grade 7 and 8, and I don't have time to help due to the preparation of an entrance exam in grade 9. I am regret about my life in grade 7.
Will I use English or Chinese to talk with my schoolmates?
When I talk with my new schoolmates, I will use English first because it can improve my English communication skills. Then use Chinese only if they cannot speak English.
Also, my new school will use English to teach knowledge at all.
What is the distance between my school and home? Are there any shuttle buses between them?
It is about 60 km (37.5 miles).
The shuttle bus has a route between the school and Phoenix City. It usually departs from Phoenix City Sunday afternoon (approximate 4:00 PM), and from the school Friday afternoon.
What is my study plan for each grade in senior high school?
Grade 10 (the 1st year): Prepare for the IELTS exam.
Grade 12 (the 3rd year): Prepare for studying in a university or college.
Meanwhile, I will be free in grade 11 because there will not be many exams unless I fail the IELTS exam.
